WhitsonsNutritionServicesWhitsons’ school nutrition programs have the shared goal of providing delicious, wholesome, and healthy meals to all students to support their growing minds.  In addition to creating and serving high quality meals, Whitsons also has a robust nutrition education program available to all accounts.  The Nutrition Services department is made up of several Registered Dietitians (RD), and many Food Service Directors also hold the Registered Dietitian or the Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) title.  We encourage our clients to take advantage of the extensive training and refined skills these Whitsons team members have by hosting wellness events for students, staff, and/or the community!

Elementary school students love our award-winning Nutrition Safari program, with Luke the Lion and all of his friends sharing what they know about the different food groups.  Our Chef Trek Cooking Demonstration Program is a hit at all grade levels with samples of popular recipes that highlight a specific food or trend.

Teachers can use our revamped Nutrition Education lesson plans created by our Dietitians for specific grade levels, and can even create their own school garden with our Elmer’s Garden program.  The Chefology 101 program offers students a more comprehensive education in the culinary arts to foster an early passion for food and nutrition.

Our team of Registered Dietitians are available year-round to provide health and wellness fair related services, complete with food models and educational materials for staff and community members to bring home.  The Nutrition Services team is also equipped to design and implement customized nutrition and wellness educational presentations to various populations in our food service accounts.
