Whitsons Offers Support to Students of Life Skills Vocational Program

TJimage1Whitsons has partnered with Saugus School District in working with students in their Life Skills program. Life Skills, is a vocational program for students ages 18-22yrs, that have graduated and have various levels of learning disabilities. The goal of the program is to help students gain meaningful employment, while providing a safe work space and function of real life.


Students of Life Skills will complete a 6 week training program with Whitsons where they will be coached and trained for meaningful employment. Students will learn education and communication skills as well as resume building and problem solving. Daily tasks include time management skills, organizational skills, daily planning, money management, budgeting and interpersonal skills. Upon completion of the program students will receive a Whitsons Certificate.

Coming soon, Saugus High School will be opening a school store where students of Life Skills will assist in support and operations. The school store will sell snacks and beverages and also Saugus clothing and apparel.  The store opening is set for January 2017 and we just can’t wait!
