Everett Team Strengthens Community Connections with Program Advisory Committee Event
The Whitsons team at Everett Public Schools, MA recently welcomed members of the Everett Career Technical Programs Advisory Committee with a fun and flavorful Burrito Bowl Buffet, creating an engaging opportunity to connect with school and community leaders while celebrating a strong and growing partnership.
The event highlighted the ongoing collaboration between Whitsons and the Everett Culinary Department, a partnership built on supporting students, workforce development, and career readiness. As active members of the Everett Advisory Committee, the Whitsons team values the opportunity to work closely with educators and industry professionals to discuss best practices, strengthen educational programs, and help prepare students for future success in the culinary and foodservice industries.
In addition to serving on the committee, Whitsons is proudly supporting the culinary department’s efforts to secure the Massachusetts Career Technical Initiative (CTI) grant, which would provide Culinary Arts workforce training opportunities for students and graduates. As part of this initiative, Whitsons plans to assist in interviewing qualified graduates of the CTI Culinary Arts training program for potential employment opportunities.
The partnership also includes the annual Whitsons Culinary Challenge, where culinary students showcase their creativity, technical skills, and passion for foodservice in a spirited and educational environment. Whitsons further supports students by providing employment opportunities within the high school kitchen, giving students valuable real-world experience while helping them build confidence and professional skills.
The Whitsons team at Everett continues to demonstrate the importance of community collaboration and student engagement through every initiative they support. From mentorship and workforce development to hands-on culinary experiences, this partnership has become a meaningful example of how education and industry can work together to create lasting impact.
