Whitsons Emergency Nutrition Services

In times of crisis, Whitsons Emergency Nutrition Services (ENS) focuses on providing more than just sustenance; we deliver wholesome foods infused with the essence of family values. Our emergency meals are prepared with care and consideration, emphasizing balanced nutrition and comfort. We prioritize fresh, locally sourced ingredients to prepare hot, nourishing meals that offer a sense of stability and hope to affected communities.

With over 40 years of experience in emergency nutrition and more than 20 years in large-scale response, we offer comprehensive emergency dining solutions designed to address a variety of crises. Our expertise and resources ensure that we can deliver high-quality meals and support wherever and whenever they are needed.

First Response & Ongoing Service Plans

Whitsons ENS specializes in first response and continuous dining services across a broad spectrum of emergencies, including natural disasters, equipment failures, and power outages. Our team is equipped to handle all aspects of emergency food relief from supply chain management to distribution logistics, ensuring timely and efficient support.

Turn-Key Emergency Nutrition Solutions
We offer turn-key solutions to provide meal services while supporting our local communities. We manage the entire process, from establishing and maintaining relationships with farms and community organizations to sourcing, preparing and managing the distribution of meals and ensuring compliance with all regulations and requirements.

Food Management Services
We offer integral food management services. A pre-set menu for hot and cold meals can be developed in advance, inclusive of breakfast, lunch, afternoon break, dinner, midnight meal and snacks, in case of a 24-hour disaster relief operation.

Business Revitalization/ Recovery Programs
The prompt return to normal business operations is critical to the speedy recovery of areas hit by disaster. ENS can assist with the creation and organization of business revitalization and recovery programs, partnering with local and federal government and non-profit organizations.

Logistics management

In addition to providing off-site meal solutions, we are also successful in managing all aspects of an on-site food service operation from staffing to menu planning, food and supply ordering and inventory control, even in demanding environments where the highest level of organization, safety/sanitary and logistical controls are needed. Whether on- or off-site, Whitsons ENS offer the following management resources:

State-of-the-art facilities

Our state-of-the-art culinary facilities are FDA-certified and fully equipped with extensive production equipment, including whole-facility generators that supply electricity and refrigeration for the entire operation. Our facilities are capable of producing individual meal solutions or multi-day meal kits, in fresh or shelf-stable options. We are capable of producing 250,000 meals per day.

Vehicles Management

Our fleet of vehicles and extensive distribution channels are well equipped to handle shipping out meals for distribution remotely or at a central location, including refrigerated vehicles and vehicles that can maintain hot and cold foods at the proper temperatures. We also have equipment and additional resources that can be rapidly deployed as necessary to handle virtually any type of emergency situation.

SUPPLY CHAIN LOGISTICS

We utilize a supply chain network as an essential aspect of our emergency services operations. We have pre-negotiated arrangements with vendors who can deliver products immediately and can operate 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

EXPERIENCED PERSONNEL

We completely control all aspects of the meal production and delivery process through the latest, most modern equipment and facilities and the most talented and knowledgeable team of dining service management experts, all ServSafe certified and operating under the most stringent HACCP principles. ENS can also offer:

TRAINING OF CLIENTS’ STAFF/VOLUNTEERS

It is essential to be ready with properly trained staff/volunteers in the operation of all equipment, safety and sanitation issues. When disasters arise, non-profit organizations rally scores of volunteers ready to help in any capacity necessary. However, not all of these hard-working volunteers are necessarily trained in food handling procedures and regulations. We can provide this training to establish excellent service and safe food handling protocols. We possess certified food trainers with credentials who are capable of assuming the challenge of guiding and training all of the volunteers during the emergency situation to ensure the safety and success of the emergency dining services.

WHITSONS EMERGENCY NUTRITION SERVICES SUPPORT PERSONNEL

We are also able to provide experienced Emergency Nutrition Services’ disaster service team members to handle and/or support the operations. We have trained and prepared a labor force with the necessary experience to keep your dining service operations running in the event of an emergency. All team members are trained in HACCP standards and managers are ServSafe certified.

WAREHOUSE & DONATION MANAGEMENT
We are also capable of aiding in organizing and allocating donations that may be received as part of the disaster response efforts.

The ENS team is well versed in providing emergency relief in a wide variety of situations. The following examples serve as testimonials to our team’s expert handling of a variety of emergency situations—each with a plan in place to take immediate action.

Always Ready to Respond

Whether there is a catastrophic event or simply the stress of everyday life, we can all use some comfort in times of need. A helping hand and a wholesome meal can go a long way towards the path of recovery.
