Whitsons Team at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District Caters to District’s Needs

The team in Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District, MA has helped lead an exciting first month of the school year for both students and staff. Recently, Colleen Pais and her team catered a ceremony celebrating a vehicle donation from Ford Motor Company to their Automotive Technology Program, helping provide students with a more hands-on learning experience. Several local dignitaries and state representatives, including the Associate Commissioner from the Department of Education, were on hand.

“I just wanted to take a moment to recognize how wonderful Colleen has been in helping us get the café up and running for our big event last Monday, “said Leo Brehm, District Business Administrator for Finance and Operations.  “Colleen’s efforts made a huge difference in showcasing the quality and professionalism of Dighton, Rehoboth, and Whitsons, and I’m very grateful for her partnership.”

Her team also introduced DRip Café – a little café specifically for the staff at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. The school is located in the woods and not easily accessible for staff to quickly run out on their breaks for food. Mr. Brehm asked Colleen over the summer if she could help the school open a café to eventually be part of the school culinary department, helping both provide additional hands-on learning experiences for students and a solution for an on-site food option for staff during school hours.

Colleen worked with the custodial staff to order furniture and equipment to help redesign her office and a storage room into DRip Café. In the mornings, made-to-order breakfast sandwiches are available, along with espressos and lattes from a brand-new coffee machine. At lunch, they feature a hot special menu item, which has included Shrimp and Chicken Mozambique, Chowder, and Clam Cakes. They also feature grab-and-go salads, snacks, and pastry, which has included Pumpkin Logs, Mini Cheesecakes, and Brownies. Staff are enjoying the new options along with the comfortable furniture and space just for them.

“Colleen is truly an incredible visionary,” said Frederick Souza, Assistant Superintendent. “Her hard work has really pushed our district ahead. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next!”

“Joe Armenti has been a great District Manager supporting me while I put this together with the district,” said Colleen.  “Whitsons and Dighton Rehoboth make a great team. I am so happy to say I am the GM there.”
