Bring on the Beets!

Not many people are aware of the many, many benefits of adding beets to your diet. They are good for your heart, improve blood and oxygen flow, reduce inflammation, improve digestive health, are good for your brain, have cancer fighting properties and more!

Not sure how to incorporate beets into your diet? Here’s an easy smoothie you can whip up that’s a fun pink color from the raspberry and beets. Kids (or wary adults) won’t even be able to taste the beets in this refreshing and naturally sweet smoothie!

RECIPE: Banana Beet Raspberry Smoothie

INGREDIENTS:

2 medium or 3 small beets
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup almond milk
handful of ice cubes

DIRECTIONS:

Peel beets and cut into large chunks. Toss everything into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
