Our Glendale Teams Serve Up the Spirit of the Season

Throughout this past holiday season, our Glendale® team brought more than meals to the communities we serve, they delivered moments of connection, comfort and celebration. With thoughtfully decorated dining spaces, scratch-made seasonal menus, and a commitment to reaching every resident, our work turns traditional holiday fare into shared experiences that truly capture the spirit of the season.

At Vernon Housing Authority in Vernon, CT, our team prepared a complete Thanksgiving feast featuring roast turkey with pan gravy, yukon gold mashed potatoes, candied yams, string beans, cranberry sauce, and apple pie. Residents at the PITKAT Congregate Living Center gathered for a festive sit-down meal accompanied by live music, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. At the same time, our team ensured no one was left out, nearly 200 meals were carefully prepared, packaged, and delivered directly to residents’ homes throughout the Vernon Housing Authority community.

The celebration continued at Juniper Hill Village in Storrs, CT, where residents came together for a joyful holiday gathering centered around another scratch-prepared seasonal meal. The meal included roast turkey with pan gravy, herb stuffing, yukon gold mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, assorted vegetable medley, candied yams, and an assortment of homemade pies. Live holiday music and a spirited sing-along, added to the festivities delighting the residents and filling the room with laughter, memories, and the unmistakable magic of the season.

“Through collaboration, care, and culinary excellence, our Glendale teams exemplify how food can bring people together, especially during the holidays, ensuring that every resident feels included, celebrated, and at home around the table,” said John DeCourcy, VP of Operations.
