Hurricane Gloria
LIPA (FORMERLY LILCO), HICKSVILLE, NY
When Hurricane Gloria struck, millions of customers lost power, electrical lines were down and numerous repairs needed to be made. We provided food to over 1000 workers during the storm restoration. This 24-hour service was maintained for 3 weeks while drivers, phone technicians, customer service representatives, electricians and other personnel worked around the clock to repair the damage done by the storm. We also provided 24-hour service to workers during other storm restoration projects, lasting anywhere from one day to ten days or more.
