Whitsons Receives B+ Protein Sustainability Scorecard Rating
The Humane Society of the US recently published their annual Protein Sustainability Scorecard which assesses how companies are taking action to achieve their sustainability goals. Whitsons Culinary Group is proud to have achieved a B+ rating, showing that we are doing our part by providing more plant-based options to our customers. The report focuses on three main topics to help identify just how much foodservice companies are truly doing when it comes to sustainability, including transparency, goals and a plan of action.
At Whitsons, we understand the impact that we, as an organization, can have on the environment. Therefore, our goal is to provide 33% plant-based offerings by 2025, ultimately reducing our carbon footprint and helping to reduce the effects of climate change. We plan to achieve this goal by requiring that one in four meals offered on our menus are plant-based in 2023-2024 and one in three are plant-based in 2024-2025, at our onsite managed school districts, and we plan to conduct periodic menu assessments to ensure progress.
Our missions is to enhance life one meal at a time, and if we work together to make a change now, we can also enhance the lives of future generations for years to come.
